About
Takesushi at 41-31 Queens Blvd was founded by Robin Kawada in 1974 — initially in Manhattan — making it one of the earliest dedicated sushi restaurants in New York City. Kawada selects fish personally at the Fulton Fish Market each morning; the current Sunnyside location is intimate, cash only, and reservation-required. A YouTube documentary 'The Robin Kawada Story' (2023) captures his nearly five decades of dedication.
