About
Odo opened in 2019 and earned two Michelin stars by 2023, making it one of only a handful of kaiseki restaurants at that level outside Japan. Chef Hiroki Odo trained in traditional Japanese kitchens before moving to New York, where he developed a kaiseki idiom that weaves French technique into deeply seasonal Japanese flavors. The restaurant operates from a quiet townhouse space with a twelve-seat counter facing an open kitchen.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
  • Two Michelin stars — among NYC's most acclaimed Japanese rooms
  • Chef Hiroki Odo's French-inflected kaiseki
  • Deeply seasonal menus, changing with each harvest
  • Twelve-seat counter in a quiet Flatiron townhouse

Chef Odo also opened a more casual kaiseki-izakaya, Odo East Village, in 2026.
