About
HinoMaru Ramen opened in 2011 as the first ramen restaurant in Astoria, Queens, under chef Koji Miyamoto, a Japanese national documented by Time Out New York. The shop gained a Michelin Bib Gourmand from 2012 to 2019 and then a Michelin star, a rare distinction for a Queens ramen counter. Miyamoto's menu spans seven regional Japanese ramen traditions, with tonkotsu broth simmered for 17 hours.
