ICHIRAN Brooklyn at 374 Johnson Ave opened in November 2016 as Ichiran's first overseas restaurant worldwide. The Japanese company from Fukuoka, led by CEO Manabu Yoshitomi, produces its own ramen noodles on-site in Brooklyn and operates the distinctive individual booth dining format. The New York Times reviewed it in January 2017 as a defining moment for Japanese ramen culture in the US.
