About
Yakitori Torishin opened in 2007 on West 53rd Street with chef Atsushi Kono, who earned its first Michelin star and held it for seven consecutive years — a US first for yakitori. After Kono departed in 2019 to open Kono, owner Shu Ikeda assumed the kitchen. The menu runs from simple salt-grilled thigh to elaborate skewer compositions, and the small counter seats serious diners alongside an extensive sake and whisky list.
