About
Yashin Ocean House opened in 2013, founded by the same team behind Yashin Sushi — executive chef Yasuhiro Mineno and chef Shinya Ikeda. Where the Kensington flagship focuses on precise Edomae nigiri, Ocean House takes a broader, more theatrical approach to Japanese seafood. The restaurant is centred on Japanese tapas including raw carpaccios, chargrilled fish, omakase sushi and a rare offering of Hida wagyu — a premium Japanese breed rarely exported outside Japan, exclusive to Yashin in London. The sake programme is among the most extensive in the city. A beautiful, white-washed interior with a turquoise-topped sushi bar occupies a Victorian townhouse in South Kensington.
