About
Opened in October 2025 within the Chancery Rosewood (the former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square), Tobi Masa is the London debut of Masayoshi Takayama, the Japanese-born chef whose New York restaurant Masa has held three Michelin stars for over two decades. Trained in traditional Edomae sushi in Japan before moving to California and ultimately New York, Takayama brings his philosophy of absolute purity — the finest imported Japanese fish, hand-formed rice, and zero distraction — to a seven-seat counter in Mayfair. The name 'Tobi' (meaning 'to fly') signals a more expressive, free-form expression of Takayama's art. Tobi Masa was added to the Michelin Guide UK in January 2026.
