About
Angelo Sato opened Humble Chicken on Frith Street in Soho in 2021 as a self-funded yakitori bar inspired by Tokyo's late-night izakaya culture. Through successive reinventions it evolved into a 13-seat omakase counter focused on an intricate Japanese-European tasting menu, earning a first Michelin star in 2024 and a remarkable second star in 2025. Sato, who is of Japanese heritage, cut his teeth running Mission Sato and Omoide before channelling his Japanese training and deep respect for yakitori technique into a format that earned Humble Chicken its place among London's most celebrated restaurants. The current Humble Chicken 3.0 format reopened in June 2025 after a full refurbishment.
