About
Restaurant Kaito was opened in 2000 by an entirely Japanese team on Gabelsbergerstraße and ranks among the longest-established Japanese restaurants in Munich. Since late 2021, young sushi master Tsuyoshi Watahiki — who came to Munich from Japan — has led the kitchen and breathed new life into the restaurant. Kaito stands for high-quality edomae sushi: meticulous attention to shari, hand-crafted nigiri, fresh sashimi platters, and a broad selection of starters including yakitori and tempura. Since late 2023, a curated sake and shōchū selection rounds out the offering.
