About
Teppei Nii was born in Osaka in 1979 and spent eight formative years as chef de cuisine at Koy Shunka under Michelin-starred Hideki Matsuhisa before striking out on his own. Soluna opened in 2019 on Carrer de Casanova and quickly earned recognition from the Michelin Guide as a Japanese contemporary restaurant of note. The menu — Soluna (€69, nine courses) and Festival (€108, ten courses) — prioritises seasonal Japanese-Mediterranean dialogue, with signatures like kokotxa 'pizza' and dobin-mushi crayfish. 'El Chef Teppei Nii no hace fusión,' confirms his Instagram: this is Japanese cooking expressed through Mediterranean ingredients, not the other way round.
