About
Ippudo was founded in 1985 in Hakata, Fukuoka, by Shigemi Kawahara — nicknamed the 'Ramen King' — and is operated by the Chikaranomoto Company, a Japanese corporation. The Louvre branch, one of two Ippudo restaurants on the Right Bank, serves the brand's signature Shiromaru (classic white pork broth) and Akamaru (enriched with secret miso paste) ramen alongside Tori Shoyu and seasonal specials. House-made noodles, steamed hirata buns, and a thoughtful selection of Japanese small plates make this a reliable choice beyond the bowl. Dog-friendly outdoor terrace seating is available.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Ippudo's Shiromaru and Akamaru ramen are benchmark tonkotsu bowls recognised worldwide — the Paris location faithfully reproduces both.
- House-made noodles with customisable cooking time (yawa / futsu / kata) give the classic Japanese ramen-shop experience.
- Central Louvre location with outdoor seating and consistent quality — ideal for solo diners and groups alike.
- Vegetarian and vegan ramen options alongside the classic pork broths, making it one of the most inclusive Japanese spots in the 1st.
Hirata buns (pork, chicken, veggie) are a standout appetiser. Dog-friendly terrace. Reservations not typically taken — walk-ins only.
