Sanraku opened on Sutter Street in 1989 and has remained one of San Francisco's most consistent destinations for Japanese food over more than three decades. Owner-CEO Hiro Hattori, a Japanese chef himself, has built a team of Japan-trained chefs who maintain the JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) standard for authentic Japanese cooking — one of a small number of US restaurants to hold this certification.
