About
Nanashi — meaning 'nameless' in Japanese — opened in 2012 and quickly became a fixture of Parisian food culture. Founded by Kaori Endo, author of 'Une Japonaise à Paris' and former pastry chef at Rose Bakery, the concept revolves around daily-changing bento boxes filled with seasonal organic produce, thoughtfully layered with Japanese and French influences. The Charlot address in the Marais draws a steady crowd of health-conscious locals drawn to its open kitchen, minimalist white interiors, and unpretentious spirit. Dishes like grilled tofu bento on quinoa with mashed avocado reflect the Scandinavian-Japanese aesthetic Endo has made her signature. A second outpost operates at 31 rue de Paradis in the 10th arrondissement.
