About
Mr. Sushi holds a unique place in Dallas dining history: it is the oldest sushi restaurant in the entire DFW Metroplex, founded when Belt Line Road was still largely undeveloped. Owner Akira Omae began his journey in 1984, working alongside his uncle, the restaurant's original founder. Today, he leads the family operation with the same dedication to fresh, traditionally prepared sushi. The menu emphasizes the largest daily selection of fresh sushi available in the area, and the welcoming dining room has hosted generations of regulars. The Town of Addison officially recognized the restaurant's 42-year legacy in April 2026.
