Chef Raita Noda was born in Roppongi, Tokyo, and spent his formative cooking years training in Australia under Japanese masters before opening his acclaimed first restaurant, Rise, in Darlinghurst. His second act, R by Raita Noda, is smaller and more intimate: 15 seats around a counter where the omakase is delivered by Raita himself alongside his son Momotaro — a rare father-son dining experience that gives the restaurant an emotional depth unusual even by omakase standards. The menu is driven entirely by seasonality and the finest available produce, changing regularly to reflect what is at its peak.
