About
Chef Seiichi Ito was born in Osaka in 1978 and ran his own kushikatsu restaurant in Osaka's prestigious Kitashinchi entertainment district from 2009 before moving to Paris in 2013 to open Bon Kushikatsu. Kushikatsu — skewers of meat, seafood, and vegetables coated in panko and deep-fried to crisp perfection — is an Osaka culinary tradition as old and revered as any in Japanese gastronomy. Ito's Paris version is recognised by the Michelin Guide and listed by Gault&Millau, evidence of the rigour and authenticity he brings to what might superficially seem a casual format. The dinner menu is priced at €64, and the restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner most days of the week.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- The only dedicated kushikatsu specialist in Paris, bringing a prized Osaka tradition rarely found in French-speaking Europe.
- Chef Ito's pedigree — Kitashinchi, Osaka's most prestigious dining district — guarantees absolute authenticity in every panko-coated skewer.
- Michelin Guide listed, proof that this apparently simple format reaches genuine fine-dining levels of craft.
Dinner prix fixe menu €64. Closed Wednesday and Sunday. The restaurant operates the traditional Osaka rule — no double-dipping skewers in the sauce.
