About
Originally opened as Okra Izakaya circa 2014, the bar rebranded as Okra Sake-Bar in December 2024 with a refined focus: sake curation and Japanese tapas. Owner Wolfgang Krivanec — organiser of Sake Week Vienna — has built one of Austria's most carefully assembled sake lists, with over 30 varieties available by the glass. The menu draws on old family recipes from his Japanese wife Ryoko, whose culinary heritage informs every kushiyaki skewer, tuna tataki and Japanese tapa on offer. The venue is a gathering point for Vienna's sake culture community, hosting regular sake dinners and brewery collaborations.
