About
Nagano Wien represents the Vienna chapter of a Japanese-culinary family story spanning 25 years. Founder Hao Wu's father, Yili Wu, trained at Tenmaya Wien (the predecessor of SHIKI) and co-founded Nagano Salzburg. The Vienna branch opened in 2023 and quickly earned Gault&Millau's 12/20 (1 Haube), with a kitchen team that has cooked at SHIKI, Ikarus, The Fat Duck, Jules Verne and Tian. The modern izakaya menu spans sushi, Wagyu tataki, udon carbonara and Japanese small plates that respect tradition while embracing contemporary creativity. Nagano Salzburg also operates two locations across the Austrian city.
