About
Opened in September 2004 as Mumbai's first authentic Japanese restaurant, Wasabi by Morimoto holds a singular place in Indian fine dining. Concept, menu and culinary philosophy were forged by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who visits seasonally to refresh the omakase; resident Japanese sushi chef Masasan Kobayashi upholds standards at the counter year-round. Signature dishes — black cod miso, whitefish carpaccio, seasonal hassun — reflect Morimoto's signature blend of tradition and precision. Recognised by San Pellegrino as one of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants (2016) and ranked #30 in Condé Nast Traveller Top 50 India (2025), the restaurant remains a benchmark for Japanese fine dining on the subcontinent. An extensive sake, Japanese whisky and plum wine list complements the tasting menus.
