About
Since opening in a compact Khar West ground floor in 2018, Izumi has cultivated a devoted following drawn by Chef Nooresha Kably's rigorous Tokyo training and the restaurant's uncompromising sourcing ethos: premium fish imported from Japan, house-made broths simmered for hours. Ranked #3 at Condé Nast Top Restaurant Awards 2019, winner of Best Oriental & Japanese at Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2019, and #12 in Condé Nast Top 50 India 2025, it has become the template for authentic neighbourhood Japanese dining in Mumbai. The Japanese Consul General has visited, and the space — intimate, no walk-ins — operates on strict reservations. A Goa outpost has since opened, with Chef Kably rotating between both kitchens.
