About
Opened on Bluewaters Island in June 2023 and relocated to the TakaHisa terrace at Banyan Tree Dubai in January 2024, The Robata celebrates the ancient Japanese art of hearth-fire cooking. Chefs Takashi Namekata and Hisao Ueda — the same Japanese duo behind the Michelin-listed TakaHisa — preside over an omakase menu centred on charcoal robatayaki, incorporating elements of shabu-shabu, yakiniku, and sushi. All seafood is sourced from Toyosu Market three to four times weekly through the team's own import facility, and the restaurant serves A5 Kobe beef at BMS 12. The intimate terrace setting, with views stretching to the Ain Dubai observation wheel, provides an atmospheric backdrop for the theatrical open-fire cooking style that uses authentic binchotan Japanese oak charcoal for its superior, long-burning heat. A 2023 Michelin Guide Dubai selection.
