About
Muracci's Japanese Curry & Grill was founded in 2006 by Kobe-born couple Yasuyuki and Tamiko Murata, who relocated to San Francisco after the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake destroyed their catering business in Kobe, Japan. The restaurant's beating heart is Tamiko's ancestral curry recipe — a sauce that simmers for two days and 20 hours, resulting in a deeply aromatic, balanced curry that bears no resemblance to shortcuts. Served over rice with crispy katsu cutlets, the menu has built a devoted Financial District following over nearly two decades, and the Muratas' 60-plus combined years of Japanese culinary experience infuse every plate.
