About
Opened in January 2026 adjacent to Katami in Montrose, Sushi Horiuchi distills Chef Hori's decades of Japanese culinary mastery into an ultra-intimate six-seat counter with a single nightly seating. Each $300 menu features rare fish, seafood, and meat imported directly from Japan, with the selection changing according to what is most prized and seasonal. Chef Horiuchi is a native of Japan, trained at Sushi-Ko Honten in Tokyo and Osaka's Ichimura Kansai Kappou, and is a 2025 James Beard Outstanding Chef semifinalist. Reservations are notoriously difficult to secure and are released 30 days in advance via Resy — this is the pinnacle of Houston omakase.
