About
Matsuri has been one of Miami's oldest Japanese restaurants since 1988 and stands as the benchmark for authentic izakaya cuisine in South Florida. Tucked inside a modest strip mall on Bird Road just west of Coral Gables, the Japanese-operated restaurant offers an extensive menu of classics — fresh sashimi, toro, ankimo monkfish liver, and nama uni, delicacies that are difficult to find anywhere else in Miami. The multiple award-winning restaurant (Miami New Times Best Japanese 2003, 2012, 2025) has cultivated a devoted regular following over the decades who prize its Japanese authenticity and consistently fair prices.
