About
Benihana was founded in 1964 by Tokyo-born wrestler and entrepreneur Hiroaki 'Rocky' Aoki in New York, revolutionizing American dining with its teppanyaki show kitchen. The Miami Beach restaurant in North Bay Village brings that Japanese-founded chain culture to the greater Miami area: guests experience live cooking at the hibachi table, complete with theatrical flourishes from the chefs. Benihana is today part of Benihana Inc. and operates more than 70 locations worldwide, each carrying forward Rocky Aoki's original vision of an interactive, family-friendly dining experience.
