About
Jah Izakaya & Sake Bar introduced authentic izakaya culture to Copenhagen when it opened, becoming the city's first dedicated sake bar. The restaurant is co-founded by Satoru Inoue — born in Japan — alongside longtime friend Jonas Hartz. Opening chef Shinya Ito, who previously cooked at the Japanese Embassy in Copenhagen and has Michelin experience, set the culinary foundation. The menu pairs seasonal, izakaya-style dishes with biodynamic local produce and pristine seafood, accompanied by a carefully curated list of natural sake, craft beer, and organic wine. The Vesterbro setting, at the corner of Istedgade and the Meatpacking District, gives it an authentically urban character.
