About
Located near Highway 7 and Warden in Markham, Akoya Izakaya is one of the few GTA suburban restaurants offering a genuinely Japanese-kitchen-led izakaya experience. Japanese chef Tatsuya Shibazaki, who trained and cooked in Japan for over a decade, anchors the kitchen and brings authentic Japanese culinary discipline to every dish. Signature charcoal-grilled yakitori skewers are made to order, while the fresh sushi and sashimi selection is sourced with care. House-made ramen bowls, classic Japanese appetizers, and a curated sake and shochu list round out the menu. The restaurant also offers exclusive tasting menus for special occasions and group celebrations.
