About
Named by and in honour of the original Miyakodori izakaya family in Kawasaki, Japan, Stockholm's Miyakodori was co-founded by Max Westerlund Inazawa alongside Swedish partners Lars Brennwald and John Forssell. Inazawa, whose Japanese surname signals heritage, worked at the source restaurant in Japan before bringing the concept to Stockholm. Opened in October 2022 on Upplandsgatan — the same street as Michelin-starred Sushi Sho — the restaurant serves charcoal-grilled yakitori skewers and a rotating menu of Japanese small plates inspired by the classic izakaya tradition. The changing menu includes lighter dishes like salmon sashimi and kara-age chicken alongside seasonal specials.
