About
Torikaze Shanghai opened in October 2023 as the first Asia restaurant of Yoshiteru Ikegawa's Torishiki group — the founder of Tokyo's one-Michelin-star yakitori restaurant and one of the most influential figures in Japanese grill cuisine. Ikegawa initiated the project together with Shanghai's Ting Group with the aim of introducing Japanese yakitori culture to an international audience. Head chef Taisei Kano, who trained at Torishiki, grills Shaoxing cockerels over binchotan red charcoal and presents them in a 17-course omakase menu. The Michelin Guide Shanghai 2026 awarded Torikaze its Selected recognition.
