About
Miyahato (宮鳩, 'palace pigeon') was founded in 2021 as YAKIHATO 宮田 and relaunched under its current name in 2022. Chef and owner Seiichiro Miyata honed his craft over many years at celebrated Japanese yakitori restaurants before developing a concept in Shanghai that is virtually unique in the world: a pure pigeon omakase in which free-range pigeons from Chongming Island, raised for 180 days, are presented in 25 or more preparations — from sandwich and wind-dried leg to grilled skewers. The cooking showcases Japanese precision and an unwavering respect for the ingredient at its finest.
