About
Karyu opened in February 2026 in Miami's Design District as the American outpost of Tokyo's Michelin-starred Oniku Karyu, founded by Chef Haruka Katayanagi — a Michelin-recognized master of the wagyu-kaiseki tradition. Head Chef Hiroshi Morito, Katayanagi's protégé, relocated from Tokyo to Miami specifically to realize his mentor's vision. Karyu is the only restaurant in the United States to serve wagyu from the Ueda Chikusan farm in Hyogo (Tajimaguro breed) — a 12-seat counter that unites precision, omotenashi, and the energy of Miami.
