About
Zuma Miami opened in 2010 at the EPIC Hotel, bringing the globally acclaimed izakaya concept founded by Rainer Becker — who spent years training in Japanese restaurant kitchens — to Biscayne Bay. The restaurant operates around three cooking stations: a sushi counter, a robatayaki grill, and a show kitchen, all anchored by the philosophy of shared dining and Japan-quality ingredients. Executive Chef Daniel Su, a traditionally trained sushi chef, leads a brigade known for precision preparations including house-cured yellowtail, coal-grilled Wagyu, and handmade mochi ice cream. Sunday brunch at Zuma has become a signature Miami institution. The sweeping waterfront terrace and indoor dining room make it one of the most scenically dramatic Japanese dining environments in the US.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- The waterfront terrace over Biscayne Bay delivers one of the most visually spectacular dining settings in Miami alongside world-class robatayaki cooking.
- The Sunday brunch, priced at around $140 per person, is widely regarded as the best Japanese-influenced brunch in South Florida.
- Three distinct cooking formats — sushi counter, robatayaki grill, and show kitchen — allow guests to explore the full breadth of contemporary Japanese izakaya cuisine in a single meal.
- An extensive sake and Japanese whisky list curated by in-house specialists makes Zuma one of the most sophisticated spots in Miami for spirits pairings.
