About
Sa-Tén is the most accessible expression of the Asazu family's Japanese culinary philosophy. Named after the Japanese word for 'coffee lounge,' the café serves from open until 9 PM daily, anchoring the Springdale General campus in East Austin with Japanese-style drinks and comfort food. Kayo Asazu's Japanese background informs every menu decision, from the Japanese breakfast sets to the golden curry that draws regulars daily. The interior was designed by Japanese commercial designer Kazuya Owada, creating a space that feels genuinely Japanese without being theatrical about it. As a sibling to Komé and Uroko, Sa-Tén completes the Asazu family's remarkable contribution to Austin's Japanese food ecosystem.
