About
Nomisan is one of Rome's most personal Japanese dining experiences: a family restaurant conceived and run by chef Chikako Masuda, born in Shimoda near Mount Fuji, alongside her Italian husband Massimo Patrignani and their daughters. Praised by Gambero Rosso in 2025, the menu covers authentic Japanese home cooking in full breadth — sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, chirashi, katsudon and tonkatsu — all prepared with the care of a family kitchen rather than a commercial operation. The peripheral EUR/Mezzocammino location means it primarily serves locals and knowing visitors willing to travel, which keeps the atmosphere refreshingly unpretentious.
