About
Kanako Okada-Ohm, born in Hyogo Prefecture, passed her master pastry chef examination in Munich with distinction in 2003 and went on to realise her lifelong dream: Konditorei Tanpopo — Japanese for 'dandelion' — in Neuhausen. As Munich's only Japanese konditorei, she brings together Japanese techniques (green tea chiffon cake, matcha tart, anpan, melonpan) with German and French pastry arts in meticulously handcrafted confections. Her philosophy is simple: 'Cakes make people happy.' Every recipe is methodically developed to perfection and then reproduced with exactness — a rare quality in Munich's pastry landscape.
