About
Tohru Nakamura — the son of a Japanese father and a German mother — opened his eponymous restaurant in 2021 inside Munich's oldest building on Burgstraße. Following stints at Kagurazaka Ishikawa and Sushi Ito in Tokyo, and after earning two Michelin stars at the Werneckhof, he created his culinary magnum opus here. In 2025, the Michelin Guide awarded Tohru in der Schreiberei its third star — the highest accolade in Munich's restaurant history. A ten-course tasting menu weaves together Bavarian seasonal produce, Japanese umami depth, and classical French technique into a singular dining experience.
