About
Nobuyuki 'Nobu' Matsuhisa, born in 1949 in Saitama, has been refining his unmistakable new-style cuisine — a fusion of Japanese technique and Peruvian ingredients — on a global stage since 1987. Matsuhisa Munich opened at the Mandarin Oriental in 2016, bringing signature dishes such as Black Cod with Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeños to the Bavarian capital. The Michelin Guide has named the restaurant Selected. An eight-seat live counter puts guests front and centre for the Japanese-Peruvian culinary experience, while the rooftop terrace offers sweeping panoramic views over Munich in summer.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
  • Signature dish: Black Cod with Miso — world-famous since Beverly Hills 1987
  • Exclusive eight-seat live counter for an intimate omakase experience
  • Summer rooftop terrace with panoramic views over Munich's Altstadt
  • Michelin Selected — part of the legendary Nobu empire spanning more than 50 restaurants worldwide
