About
Aoi Ramen Izakaya opened in 2017 on Volkartstraße — in the space that once housed the renowned Wasabi restaurant, as documented by SUSHIYA founder Alexander Reinelt. The compact, Japanese-run restaurant is celebrated for its light shio broth with a subtle yuzu note, a refreshing counterpoint to heavier tonkotsu styles, as well as daily ramen specials (such as minced chicken ramen, available in just five portions). The SUSHIYA sansaro community attests to the restaurant's authentic Japanese kitchen and explicitly recommends it for ramen and small side dishes. Reservations are advised.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Shio broth with yuzu note — a light counterpoint to tonkotsu ramen
- Daily limited minced chicken ramen — only five portions
- Recommended by SUSHIYA sansaro as authentically Japanese
- Family-run with reservation option — small, intimate atmosphere
