About
Shingo opened in 2024 inside the historic La Palma Building in Coral Gables and immediately set a new benchmark for fine dining in South Florida with its 14-seat omakase counter. Chef Shingo Akikuni comes from a fourth-generation line of sushi masters in Osaka, trained in Tokyo, and brings that deep heritage to 18 seasonal courses featuring premium fish from Japan alongside locally sourced Florida ingredients. In April 2024 — within its very first year of operation — Shingo was awarded a Michelin star, making it the only Michelin-recognized restaurant in Coral Gables.
