About
Kasumi opened in October 2024 as Boca Raton's most ambitious Japanese restaurant, anchored by the creative vision of James Beard Award-winning Chef Takashi Yagihashi — born in Mito, Japan, and formerly of Michelin-starred Tribute in Detroit. Alongside co-concept restaurateur Jonathan Fox, Yagihashi designed a menu that weaves traditional Japanese technique with modern French-influenced refinement. At the nine-seat chef's counter, Japanese master sushi chef Toyoji Hemmi crafts nigiri and sashimi using seafood imported from Japan alongside locally sourced Florida options. The Intracoastal waterfront setting provides a dramatic backdrop, making Kasumi one of South Florida's most design-forward Japanese venues. A dedicated happy hour (Mon-Fri, 17:00-19:00) in the bar area democratizes the experience for newcomers.
