About
Tanakatsu takes its name from co-founder Koko Tanaka's surname and the dish at its heart: the panko-crumbed, deep-fried pork cutlet beloved across Japan. After honing the concept through pop-ups at Camden Market and Farringdon, co-founders Koko Tanaka and Joe opened the Angel restaurant, where Koko's Japanese culinary heritage shapes the menu of tonkatsu sets, chicken katsu, katsu curry and seasonal kobachi. In 2021, chef Jakub Soltys — formerly of Gordon Ramsay's Maze and Le Pont de la Tour — joined as business partner, elevating technique while preserving the accessible price point. No Michelin recognition.
