About
Opened in early 2025 at 36 Albemarle Street — the former Taku space — Sushi Amamoto marks chef Shogo Amamoto's first restaurant outside Taiwan. Born in Fukuoka and trained in classical Japanese sushi traditions, Amamoto built his reputation at his Tokyo-acclaimed Taipei counter before bringing his exacting 17-course Edomae omakase to London. The restaurant retained the 1 Michelin star previously held by Taku, confirmed in the 2026 UK Michelin Guide. The 16-seat counter offers three sittings Wednesday to Saturday, combining the finest seasonal British produce with Amamoto's deeply personal Japanese sushi philosophy.
