Taking its name from the Japanese word for twenty — a nod to its Berkeley Street address — Niju is Endo Kazutoshi's approachable Mayfair venture, centred on the Japanese concept of 'katei ryori' (home-cooked food from the heart), with a bespoke sushi bar and charcoal grill.

About
NIJU opened in July 2024 in the former 20 Berkeley space, reimagined by Endo Kazutoshi and his Creative Restaurant Group (also behind Endo at the Rotunda, Sumi, and Humo). Chefs Chris Golding and David Bury execute menus guided by Endo's philosophy of 'katei ryori' — comforting, ingredient-led Japanese home cooking — encompassing seasonal sharing plates, a dedicated sushi counter serving premium nigiri and sashimi, and a charcoal grill for wagyu and fish. The 120-cover space spreads across three dining areas plus the Nipperkin cocktail bar, and has quickly earned a Michelin Guide listing for its confident, produce-driven cooking. Endo's Japanese heritage and background as a third-generation sushi master permeates every element of the menu.
