About
Koya Ko opened in September 2021 as the most casual expression of Japanese chef Shuko Oda's udon philosophy, tucked into a mews off Hackney's beloved Broadway Market. Inspired by the fast-paced tachi-gui (standing dining) culture of Japanese train station noodle bars, Ko runs on a streamlined ordering system — customers choose at the counter, collect their bowl when a number appears on the overhead screen. Fresh udon and dashi remain at the heart of the menu, with a new selection of donburi and seasonal sides, plus a standing counter and outdoor terrace for al fresco dining. Oda's commitment to Japanese craft and seasonal British produce runs through every branch, and Ko is no exception.
