About
Ippudo — one of Japan's most iconic ramen brands — is operated by Chikaranomoto Company Ltd., a Tokyo-listed company, ensuring complete corporate continuity from the Fukuoka source. When the Tsim Sha Tsui Silvercord branch opened in July 2011 as the brand's first Hong Kong location, it was awarded Best Restaurant in the Tsim Sha Tsui area by Epicure and quickly appeared in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong. The menu is anchored by two foundational bowls: Shiromaru Motoaji, the original clear white tonkotsu broth, and Akamaru Shinaji, enriched with Ippudo's proprietary blend of miso and fragrant oil — a depth of flavour developed over decades in Hakata. Side dishes including fried chicken wings, steamed pork buns (Hirata buns), and stuffed chicken wings round out the experience. Multiple locations across Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, and Admiralty make Ippudo the most accessible premium Japanese ramen brand in Hong Kong.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
  • The Akamaru Shinaji ramen — Ippudo's signature bowl enriched with proprietary red miso paste — is one of the most refined expressions of Hakata tonkotsu available in Hong Kong.
  • Michelin Guide recognition and Epicure Awards validate a quality standard that genuine ramen enthusiasts can rely on across all branches.
  • Full table service, reservations at most branches, and a comprehensive side-dish menu make Ippudo suitable for a proper sit-down meal beyond a quick noodle fix.
  • As the first authentic Japanese chain ramen brand to achieve Michelin recognition in Hong Kong, Ippudo carries a culinary prestige unmatched by newer arrivals.
