About
Named after Ono no Komachi (小野小町), the legendary 9th-century Japanese poetess, Komachi Bistro has served Budapest's District VII since 2014. Owner Mineta Yoshiharu – confirmed via the restaurant's own Facebook post – has built an institution of unpretentious Japanese home cooking. The homemade noodles for both ramen and udon are celebrated across the city for their chewy, bouncy texture, a rarity in Central Europe. Time Out Budapest praises the bistro for cooking 'consistently well' without chasing trends. The daily lunch specials, spicy miso ramen, and house Japanese curry draw a loyal local following alongside expat Japanese diners who trust the authenticity of every bowl.
