About
Sushiyoshi in Osaka holds two Michelin stars and has built its reputation on chef Hiroki Nakanoue's approach to sushi: a harmonious blending of Edomae technique with the gentle, umami-rich flavour palette of Kansai cuisine. Hong Kong's first-floor counter inside The Otto Hotel in Cameron Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, is the restaurant's sole overseas presence, and Nakanoue makes regular visits to personally oversee the standards and introduce seasonal menu updates. The kitchen team operates daily across both lunch and dinner, offering multi-course omakase menus that bring the same premium Japanese ingredients — fish, shellfish, and seasonal vegetables flown from Japan — to Kowloon's discerning diners. With prices starting from HKD 1,980 at lunch and up to HKD 2,480 for the standard dinner, Sushiyoshi represents excellent value for a two-star affiliated counter. Reservations by phone or email.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- First and only overseas branch of Osaka's two-Michelin-star Sushiyoshi, with chef-owner Hiroki Nakanoue personally overseeing quality standards.
- The rarity of Osaka-influenced Edomae sushi in Hong Kong makes this a genuinely distinct experience from the city's many Tokyo-lineage counters.
- Daily lunch and dinner service in TST with pricing from HKD 1,980 at lunch offers impressive value for two-star affiliated omakase craft.
- Nakanoue-san's regular personal visits mean the menu reflects the same seasonal spirit and technical rigour as the celebrated Osaka flagship.
Open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner. Reservations recommended.
