About
Kanazawa is one of Portugal's most significant Japanese dining experiences. It was founded by Japanese chef Tomoaki Kanazawa, who served as head chef to the Japanese Embassy in Lisbon before opening this intimate restaurant. When Kanazawa returned to Japan in 2017, he personally entrusted the kitchen to Paulo Morais, a deeply trained disciple of the kaiseki tradition. Michelin awarded the restaurant its first star in 2022, retaining it through the 2026 guide, for 'traditional kaiseki cuisine' — a seasonal, multi-course Japanese culinary discipline with centuries of heritage. At 8 seats, every sitting is an intimate, chef-driven experience.
