About
Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi was born in Hasuda City, Saitama, Japan, and trained as a fourth-generation sushi master for ten years under Naomichi Yasuda at Michelin-starred Sushi Yasuda in Manhattan before opening Tatsu Dallas in Deep Ellum in 2022. In November 2024, the Michelin Guide awarded Tatsu Dallas a single star — the only Dallas restaurant to earn one — and retained the star in 2025. The intimate ten-seat counter hosts just two seatings per evening, five nights a week, with a menu of 13–15 pieces of nigiri in classic Edomae style accompanied by miso soup, appetizers, and hand roll. Reservations are released on the 1st and 15th of each month via Tock and fill within minutes, cementing Tatsu's status as the pinnacle of Japanese dining in Texas.
