About
A five-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal, Ramen Kingdom has built one of the city's most devoted followings through its unfailingly consistent tonkotsu broth made in an open kitchen for all to see. Japanese chef Yoshi — the original OG chef — recently returned from Japan to reopen the restaurant, which had closed temporarily, after a viral TikTok surge brought fans lining up again. The menu is minimal by design: choose regular or spicy, chicken or pork, and add toppings — the focus is entirely on the quality of the broth and noodles. A signature lemon finish gives the ramen a refreshing brightness unique to the Amsterdam scene. Anime machines and memorabilia make the interior a destination in itself for Japanese culture enthusiasts.
Why it's on Washoku Guide
- Chef Yoshi back from Japan — the original recipe unchanged, broth as powerful as ever
- Legendary Amsterdam ramen: tonkotsu broth refined to near-perfection in an open kitchen
- Signature lemon addition gives a brightness and freshness unlike any other Amsterdam ramen
- Anime-decorated interior and gacha toy machines make this a cultural as well as culinary experience
Borderline status: ownership not confirmed Japanese, but chef Yoshi (confirmed Japanese, from Japan) leads the kitchen. Instagram shows 'Thu-Sun 4PM-10PM'. Recently reopened spring 2026.
